About Namaste Desi Star
Namaste Desi Star is a singing competition showcasing a tapestry of Indian Music and its diversity to embrace humanity by blending in with South Africa creating a culture of uniqueness and Ubuntu.
YouTube-based TV show reaching the heart of everyone under the South African Stars.
We are Namaste Desi Star.
• Art Form: Season 1 – singing only
• Language Fusion Only: Songs must be Indian-based in melody or origin but fused using any of the South African languages

Season one
A showcases of Singing Talent with a difference from South Africa. Fusion of Indian songs with any other South African language or vice versa.
This platform will enable a cultural sharing experience between Indian and all other South African Cultures making it an unique experience.
Mission
To inspire South Africans to embrace the Desi Style in all its vibrancy, culturally rich colour, glitz and glamour and use music to express the Indian language/s with any South African language.
Vision
To create a fusion between Indian and South African Cultures amongst all genres.
Audition
Step one :
Submit a 90 second audition video with clear recording
Step two:
Shortlisted contestants will be requested to submit a second 90 sec video with clear recording
Step three:
Second Phase shortlisted contestants will be requested to attend a live audition in one of these cities
that are closest to you. (Durban, Capetown, Pretoria)
Step four:
Regional finalist will compete live at a show in Gauteng.

language.

You’ll need to upload it along with your video to be considered.
By signing the disclaimer, you agree to allow your video to be used across our platforms for
judging, marketing, and show content.

Prizes
Namaste Desi Star offers prizes worth up to R1 million, giving winners the opportunity to elevate their talent
and step into the spotlight.
Cash Prizes Include:
Winner : R25,000 per age category (6 to 17 years / 18 years and above)
1st Runner-Up: R15,000 per age category (6 to 17 years / 18 years and above)
2nd Runner-Up: R10,000 (6 to 17 years / 18 years and above)
Grand Prize Winners (1 Adult & 1 Kid) will also receive:
1. One year of brand management
